Due to COVID-19, the Spanish Government has issued important restrictions in Spain. According to the latest Government's announcement, they will last until 10th May.
To protect the population's health, the mobility of citizens is severely restricted, and everybody must remain at home.
We are only allowed out to cover basic needs, such as buying food and pharmaceutical products, attending medical appointments, assisting dependents or for work reasons. Bars, restaurants and other amenities will remain closed.
As of Sunday 26th April, children up to 14 years old will be allowed to go out for a walk, but with some restrictions. They are only allowed to go out one hour per day, from 9 AM to 9 PM, they must remain in an area of 1 Km from their home and they must be always under the supervision of a responsible adult. One adult may accompany up to 3 children from the same household and must veil for them complying with the health and social distancing measures. Children with a fever or with symptoms of COVID-19 are not allowed to go out and must remain at home.
But for this exception and until further Until further notice, nobody is allowed to stay outdoors: walks, cycling, staying at the beach or going to the mountain are among the banned activities. The Police will be patrolling the streets and fines may be issued to those not complying with these restrictions.
Between 30th March and 13th April, only essential services were allowed to remain open. Currently, some companies and services operating on other sectors, such as builders, have been allowed to re-start their activity.
Initially, the deadlines for Taxes were not delayed. However, certain Town Halls have deferred some local taxes, such as road tax or council tax. Also, the Spanish Government has announced a delay for the 1st Quarter tax returns that self-employed or SME's had to file for in April. So far, the Resident Income Tax (I.R.P.F.) is still due before June 30th.
